Our first full day in Paris was beautiful and great fun. We walked 8.62 miles, climbed the equivalent of 34 flights of stairs, and had a blast in the beautiful weather. Tracy also ran 4 miles before we started:)
We started with breakfast in our hotel, then took the metro to the Eiffel Tower to meet our bike tour. We navigated the Metro with relative ease and arrived at the south foot of the tower right on time. We arrived to a protest that appeared to be a workers union, and undstood from our tour guide that protest of that sort were quite common.
The Eiffel Tower was quite impressive! We did not go up, but did enjoy seeing it from several angles.
After our tour, we took the metro to the Arch de Triomphe and a brief walk on the Champs de Élysées. Then back to the hotel for a nap. The jet lag was really starting to set in.
Please excuse the jumble of pictures. Blogger does not work well with the iPad. We can blog, but the pictures all go to the bottom of the page. We will try to correct that as we have access to a PC.

How fun to see the city by bike! Looks like fun!
