When Nora was about this age, we decided it would be fun to take a trip...when she was older. Anywhere she wanted to go right around the time she was in the 9th grade.
Just after Amelia was born, Tracy and I took Nora on our first adventure. We borrowed her Daddy's truck and drove from Atlanta to Fayetteville to visit my mother. Nora sang most of the way, and was never happy unless there was music. We trust her taste in music has changed a bit, and are sure that she can introduce us to some new music. She taught me then about proper manners "lean OVER the bowl" and proved herself a good traveling companion.
When Nora was a little older, she came for her first visit and brought along her mother, father, and sister Amelia. We had some adventures, saw Blues Clues Live, and had a great time at the beach. And we talked for the first time about where she might want to go if she could go anywhere she wanted. Her first choice at the time was the North Pole. I am glad she changed her mind.
A couple of years ago, Nora met me in Chicago for a weekend. We had a blast eating out, touring the city and museums, and seeing Blue Man Group. It was a great fun and Nora proved herself to be a great traveling companion.
Tomorrow we start a new adventure that we have been planning and thinking about for years. Nora chose Europe so we are off on our European Adventure. We can't wait to share the fun with you.
Martha and Tracy
