Day 1 in Exotic Herndon, Virginia

Our flight plans could not have been better. After a delay leaving Eugene, everything fell into place. Tracy and Martha arrived at Dulles Intl Airport at 3:45 Gate C23. Nora arrived at 4:00 Gate C22. Could not have been better timing or location.

We relaxed a bit after taking the shuttle to our hotel, then off to dinner in Herndon with friends. Tried a new restaurant called Stone's Cove Kitbar. It is called a Kitbar because the kitchen is in the middle of the restaurant, and the tables are built into a bar around the kitchen. You eat at the bar and watch the bartenders make your food .

Great tapas-type food. Lobster Cones, sliders, ahi, and Winning the award for best dish of the evening, the portobello flatbread with arugula and truffle oil (picked out by foodie Nora). Dessert was S'mores flatbread with Nutella (Jen Bills, we thought of you!!)

It was a great start for our adventure. Good food with friends can't be beat.

Tomorrow we head into Georgetown for brunch with friends before heading to the airport in the afternoon.
